Club Vietnam!!

I love to get high, and I love Vietnam era American Rock and Roll. A sad time in our country to be sure, but great art can rise from pain can't it. Not that these songs are masterpieces by any means. But in terms of building imagery in your head and taking you on a journey back in time, they are gonna be pretty hard to beat.

I rent all my music, via the wonderful invention of the Microsoft Zune and it's GLORIOUS Zune Pass monthly subscription. Some people might like their Vietnam with a bit more MoTown in it, but I like mine to be a BIT more "stoner" in character.

The Tracks Of My Tears - Smokey Robinson, the one that started it ALL for me. The song that plays durring the bunker scene in Platoon. The scene where Charlie Sheens character gets high for the first time in life. Showing you the fun side, if their was one, in Vietnam. One wonders what those soldiers would have done without the great herb in their lives.

Paint it Black - The Rolling Stones
Mississippi Queen - Mountain
Born to Be Wild - Stepenwolf
Never in my Life - Mountain
Bad Moon Rising - CCR
The Pusher - Stepenwolf
Fortunate Son - CCR
Simple Man - Lynyrd Skynyrd, GREATNESS!!!!
Southern Chros - Crosby, Stills & Nash
Get Off My Cloud - The Rolling Stones
Jumpin' Jack Flash - The Rolling Stones
Whe're an American Band - Grand Funk Railroad
White Rabbit - Jefferson Airplane
White Room - Cream
Sunshine of Your Love - Cream
Voodoo Child - Jimmy Hendrix
Machine Gun - Jimmy Hendrix
Hey Joe - Body Count, yep that's right, I like the cover better
Little Wing - Stevie Ray Vaughan
Can't You See - The Marshal Tucker Band
Highway Star - Deep Purple
Dear Mr. Fantasy - Traffic, possibly the best of the bunch. Don't believe me, just smoke some pot, give it a listen and look through vietnam photographs.

IF you have any sugestions, I'm ALL ears.

RiP Vietnam Soldiers....long live the music of your generation...as long as it lives so does our memories of all of you who fought and died.

Check out this amazingly cute picture I took

I got a new digitial camera, I got a great discount because of the place I work. Sony a700, so i've been farting around with it and a bit of HDRI image magic. :-) I'm trying to figure out what looks good with HDRI and what doesn't. Sometimes you get these amazingly odd images, sometimes images that don't look that special at all. This picture falls into the later category I think.....but it sure is cute...and makes me wana' smoke!

First week back to work, ON WEED!!!

Ahhh, the life of a pothead.

I was living the life "kisses the sky".

On an average, say, Monday I may wake up around 9:30 or so. First thing I might do is smoke a bowl, in my opinion there is NO better high than a W'n'B. After that bowl, I might walk down to a starbucks and get a late' and perhaps a breakfast sandwich. Walking outside, I'd go out the front, I'd be greeted by the beach sand and ocean instantly.

"Ahhh, nice breeze today. Quite a bit of sun already, what is it 70? I guess that explains why there are all these people on the beach."

After I gather my coffee and sandwich I'd head back to my place. Going inside it's time to open the blinds and let the outside in, ahh, much better. After catching up on some television my coffee and sandwich are gone, time for a shower.

Cleaned up, we're looking at 10:30 or 11 by now, what should I do before lunch? Any and all errands are run after smoking a post shower bowl. Driving around in my little sports car, I'll find
somewhere for lunch, I got all the time in the world, lets drive down the coast and eat on the beach. At some point, I'll usually end up in a weed store to buy a few goodies and since I have a lot of time why not sit inside the store and smoke a bowl. OK!!!!

Getting back at home post errands and the sun is shining, sunset a couple of hours away. Feels like a good time to put on some tunes and ride my bicycle somewhere to catch a beer and the sunset. All of this of course, is done after a bowl or 3.

On an average day, I'll ride my bicycle once, do 2 or so errands, walk about a mile to various locations nearby and smoke about 4 or so bowls. THAT IS THE LIFE.

WELL IT ENDED.....eventually we all have to work don't we?

Now I have to wake up and be somewhere by 9. I have to have my wits about me since I'm learning some complicated new software so no W'n'B for me. My lunch is limited to 1 hour so no smoke breaks yet. GRRRR. I love my new gig, but man, I sure miss the best life ever.

Pictures of the best time ever

I just don't think there is any vacation experience that can compare to skiing/snowboarding. The location is usually breathtaking, and the fun never stops. If you've never done it, you just have to get with it and get going. Here are some pics from my last trip.... This is what the base looks like on a Tuesday morning, simply amazing how few people where there.

Similarly, there is nobody on the slopes either, mine....ALL MINE.

I'm not sure what chair this is, but it's about 1/2 way down the run. Off in the distance you can see the desert valley.
But the mountains have their own beach!

I got so high I had an amazing vacation alone...

In the spirit of this blog I have to, I guess, brag about my vacation. My new job starts in a week so I'm spending THIS week snowboarding in Mammoth Lakes, California. I got up here last night, drove to the mountain this morning.

One thing of note, turns out lighters are prone to temperature. So if you think you can just break out the BIC lighter mid mountain, you are wrong, that shit wont even LIGHT.

I ATTEMPTED to get BLAZED 2 separate times mid mountain and COMPLETELY FAILED! BUT........as a resourceful potehead, I just went inside and got high in the bathrooms...YES!!

Anyway, man this is a GREAT vacation. My stupid phone tricked me into think it was around 3, when it was actually around 1...which meant I kicked out of snoboarding early. Oh well, I'll hit it hard tomorrow

There is NOTHING more beautiful than nature, it has ALL the best colors, it combines them in the best way. I am literally surfing down white snow, lit in pink, against a blue sky, contrasted with dark brown rocks and dark green trees. It's a wonderful place to be and honestly, it would not be as beautiful if I wasn't a pothead.

High on creativity..

...........or something. But a full bowl got me wanting to mess around in photoshop. I found a photo I took at the Salton Sea on a little roadtrip. So after about 30 minutes I had this, seems like a good image for a post nuclear something or other.

Going to the Weed Store, Pt. 2

Last time we left off at the boring "registration" portion of the shopping experience. Well now that the lame and boring part is over, it's time to go into the actual pot store....the most glorious place on the planet.

Based on my experience, the interiors of most dispensaries range from being a one room "storefront" to having smoking lounges overlooking the beach. I frequent 4 different dispensaries in my local area, and have been to 6 different dispensaries overall in my A.C. (After Card) time here in Southern California. So I'll just describe each one in as much detail as I can stand, and with that..............................OFF WE GO TO WEEDLAND U.S.A.!!!!!

Store #1
This was the very first store I went to once I got my recommendation so I have a soft spot in my heart for them. Once you've rung the bell, been greeted by the security guard and have shown your credentials, you head into the back room where they keep all their merchandise. Most stores operate in this way. A waiting/registration area, and a back room where everything is kept and purchased. Sometimes the areas are very discrete, and sometimes they meld together into one large room.

Once in the back, you are greeted by a menu being displayed on a nice big plasma T.V. on the wall. Under the menu screen are 2 generic jewelry cases where they keep some product and on a little shelf there is a fridge with edibles. I like this store because they also have an ATM inside the showroom. This is a nice feature because almost all dispensaries are cash only.

This store stocks almost entirely hydroponic Indica and Sativa dominant herbs, usually carrying about 6 or 7 types of each. Prices here are a BIT on the high side with 8ths of high end Sativas reaching $80, and Indicas getting closer to $90. In addition to marijuana, they sell various edibles, THC oil, T-Shirts, Hash, Hash Oil and Kief. This store also sells a few glass pipes and rolling papers, but it's mainly a weed only store. Like all stores, you can ask to see a sample of anything you want. They have a magnifying glass with light so that you can examine various strains/types before your purchase.

Once you put in your order with the person behind the counter (who is usually stoned) you take your order over to what used to be a door. Now that door is blocked off with a plexiglass window separating you from the guy who is gonna get you your items. Slide your order form and the appropriate cash through a slot in the window and talk a little BS while he fills your order. Wait for him to get it all sorted and drop it through a slot, you then bag it up with some brown paper bags they have stored for you right there and you are on your way.

I like to go to this store for a few reasons. The number one reason is they have a membership program. Join their club for $10 and you get a card, then each time you spend $10 they give you $1 credit to spend in the store for anything they sell. In addition to that, they sell THE BEST "Breath Strips" I've run across. Think about a Listerine breath strip, make it slightly thicker and DRENCH it in delicious THC. They are $8 bucks a pop, but are the only way to fly when you are on the go.

So that's what it's like in a nutshell. Next time I'll talk about buying medicinal marijuana on the beach................and not from a bum.

420_24_7 out, keep smoke in your brain and your lips around a bong :-)

Going to the Weed Store, Pt. 1

First off, let me talk about a few misconceptions.  First, you don't get a prescription for Marijuana.  You also don't go to a pharmacy to get your medicinal marijuana.  And not shockingly, you don't claim it on your medical insurance, NO FREE POT OK!!!!  :-)

What you DO receive is a recommendation, and you take that recommendation to a dispensary to get your medicine.  Now from what I can tell, 99% of dispensaries are built EXCLUSIVELY to sell medicinal marijuana to people who have recommendations.  And buy that I mean, these dispensaries are not selling ANYTHING other than Marijuana and Marijuana related products.

All dispensaries are different however, in their own subtle ways.  One thing that is the same at EVERY one, is checking in.  The first thing you do, when you go to one for the first time is show them your ID and your recommendation.  They then make a phone call to make sure this is a legitimate recommendation.  If it is legit then you are in the computer, and from then on only need to show your ID to get into the dispensary.  That much is the same in any and all dispensaries, but the similarities in there.

What it's like "on the inside"  NEXT!!!!!

Flower Review - Van Damme: Indica

Cheba Rating Scale 1 - 5

Van Damme (i)
Energy 2
Mental 2
Body 4
Smell 0
Taste 1
----------------------
Overstoner Rating 9

Note - This is the first time I have tried Van Damme.  This was recommended to me as an Indica that behaves more like a Sativa, and I don't know about that.   When I first smoked it there was nothing, no effect that I could feel.  This continued for a few hits off my water bong, my usual smoking method.  Then, I noticed that my eyes felt like they were VERY bloodshot and I entered a very zoned out world.

I like to have a lot of fun when i get high, I'm not sure that this would do the trick.  I may try it again before I go out in public and see if the clear effect it seemed to give initially would induce fun times.  I do not think I would purchase this flower again, it simply scored to low, and the end result didn't seem worth it.

I've been moving....

Moving sucks.....but being high can make it a better experience. I find the most pain in the ass thing about moving is the feeling of RUSHING to move a lot of stuff that simply can't be rush moved. So when you move....ON WEED...you tend to move at a more steady, albeit slower, pace.

The new place is amazing. Like I said, part of he reason I have this blog is to show that your life isn't a DISASTER on weed....far from it. While your life can be a disaster on weed, it's probably because your life IS a disaster, with or without weed.

Me?

I'm a professional artist, if you can believe it. Not only do I smoke weed ALL THE FREGIN TIME, but I also have chosen a career not known to be lucrative. It's certainly not the most steady of work, but I have had no problems living how I want to live while being high 90% of the time. I can share some pictures later perhaps. The new place sets me high above the ground, I've always wanted to live in a high rise, and this is my first one. Slowly places to call home are being checked off the list. I've done the ghetto loft, the more pimp loft, lived on the beach and now up in the air...cloud city style. Oh my, look what pot has done.

This isn't my photo, but this IS my view

Right now I'm focusing on a potential career switch, which is exciting. Career 1A, which deals in art for movies is in the pipe, so now I want to look into doing something that's a bit closer to my passion but still involves art. So I'm going to sign up for some classes and get that going.

Ok that's all for now....next time I think I'm going to give a brief written "tour" of what a day is like if you wake up in SoCal and have no pot, what would one do and what would the experience look and be like.....GOING TO THE WEED STORE!!!!!!!

P.S. Mid Mountain Timewarp STILL impresses, I'm at the end of my first 1/8th, after killing the first gram. When I went back to get an 1/8th because it was so good, it didn't look like they had much left. if they dont' get it back......i'm going to be upset. I thought I had learned my lesson with Mangoberry.....RiP Mangoberry

Flower Review - Mid Mountain Timewarp: Sativa

Cheba Rating Scale 1 - 5

Mid Mountain Timewarp (s)
Energy 5
Mental 3
Body 4
Smell 2
Taste 4
------------------------------
Overstoner Rating 18

Note - This is the first time I have tried Mid Mountain Timewarp.  As the name suggests this is a somewhat mental trip, but with a lot of body high.  My legs feel very buzzy, and my eyes are wide open if blood filled.  I would say this is a VERY good sativa, as the Overstoner Rating of 16 suggests it should.

I would repurchase this Flower if I saw it again, as it had an overall above average experience.

..trapped...

I love being high, I love being high all the time. I smoked out before I left the house and came to this coffee shop to do some work. Work = look for work, you see I'm currently out of work, just like any real pothead should be.

Anyways, I want to leave and go back home to get BLAZED but if I do I'll lose my spot at the coffee shop...ARGH.

420.1 - Never be further than a 1 minute walk from your herbs.

Today we start....

Today I start bringing you my life, my horrendous life, a life dedicated to the enjoyment of Marijuana.

I feel there is still a LOT of stigma related to this drug, so my goal in writing this and keeping track of my life as it moves forward will be to enlighten people who otherwise may have a negative feeling toward our friend THC.

For the record I can't remember the last time I went without. Ever since I moved to the state of California, it hasn't been an issue.
