Going to the Weed Store, Pt. 2

Last time we left off at the boring "registration" portion of the shopping experience. Well now that the lame and boring part is over, it's time to go into the actual pot store....the most glorious place on the planet.

Based on my experience, the interiors of most dispensaries range from being a one room "storefront" to having smoking lounges overlooking the beach. I frequent 4 different dispensaries in my local area, and have been to 6 different dispensaries overall in my A.C. (After Card) time here in Southern California. So I'll just describe each one in as much detail as I can stand, and with that..............................OFF WE GO TO WEEDLAND U.S.A.!!!!!

Store #1
This was the very first store I went to once I got my recommendation so I have a soft spot in my heart for them. Once you've rung the bell, been greeted by the security guard and have shown your credentials, you head into the back room where they keep all their merchandise. Most stores operate in this way. A waiting/registration area, and a back room where everything is kept and purchased. Sometimes the areas are very discrete, and sometimes they meld together into one large room.

Once in the back, you are greeted by a menu being displayed on a nice big plasma T.V. on the wall. Under the menu screen are 2 generic jewelry cases where they keep some product and on a little shelf there is a fridge with edibles. I like this store because they also have an ATM inside the showroom. This is a nice feature because almost all dispensaries are cash only.

This store stocks almost entirely hydroponic Indica and Sativa dominant herbs, usually carrying about 6 or 7 types of each. Prices here are a BIT on the high side with 8ths of high end Sativas reaching $80, and Indicas getting closer to $90. In addition to marijuana, they sell various edibles, THC oil, T-Shirts, Hash, Hash Oil and Kief. This store also sells a few glass pipes and rolling papers, but it's mainly a weed only store. Like all stores, you can ask to see a sample of anything you want. They have a magnifying glass with light so that you can examine various strains/types before your purchase.

Once you put in your order with the person behind the counter (who is usually stoned) you take your order over to what used to be a door. Now that door is blocked off with a plexiglass window separating you from the guy who is gonna get you your items. Slide your order form and the appropriate cash through a slot in the window and talk a little BS while he fills your order. Wait for him to get it all sorted and drop it through a slot, you then bag it up with some brown paper bags they have stored for you right there and you are on your way.

I like to go to this store for a few reasons. The number one reason is they have a membership program. Join their club for $10 and you get a card, then each time you spend $10 they give you $1 credit to spend in the store for anything they sell. In addition to that, they sell THE BEST "Breath Strips" I've run across. Think about a Listerine breath strip, make it slightly thicker and DRENCH it in delicious THC. They are $8 bucks a pop, but are the only way to fly when you are on the go.

So that's what it's like in a nutshell. Next time I'll talk about buying medicinal marijuana on the beach................and not from a bum.

420_24_7 out, keep smoke in your brain and your lips around a bong :-)
